After day one was complete, the group headed out to play Laser Tag and other fun games at a local venue.

Although there was extensive training and development that took place, we did manage to find some time for fun and games. The training sparked several conversations and everyone that attended gained some valuable knowledge that will make all of us better. Thanks to Ron Clement, Area Risk Manager, for taking an active role in this training. We then headed out to the parking lot where we had a tractor and trailer (thanks to Driver Trainer Al Donlan of Jamestown Container) staged so that we could conduct a mirror check station, following distance exercise, and JSA trainer and refresher. Day two of the event began with Tracy Walker speaking about driver turnover and safety, as well as the 180 Day On boarding Review process.

Jerry Hoban gave the group a Region update and budget overview. The first day of the event consisted of presentations that included a variety of topics including CVE Reviews (Gisella Franco), Forecasting and Analysis (Corey Palmer), Maintenance and Winter Preparation (Tim Leclair), and JBH360 Scheduler (Juwan Thompson). He made it clear even though the driver has directions in hand if he/she does not know how to download the logs then it is a violation. (License, registration, insurance, logs, paper logbook, and directions to download electronic logs) Then he talked about what is asked of the driver during an inspection followed by a hands-on demonstration.
